There’s a new name for all those emails you receive that are not spam but you don’t really want to deal with right now. These include notifications that friends updated your Facebook or all those email newsletters you couldn’t resist joining. I guess we got Spam from Spiced Ham and Bacn is a funny play on this and we say it as Bacon.

Admit it you are swamped with Bacn! Amazon want you to buy this, Play.com recommend that, You profile has been viewed 10 times, 20 people you’ve never heard of want to your friends, and your Flickr photos are so popular. All these are Bacn and can get in the way of your real business email.

So why don’t we all stop this new onslaught? We don’t cos sometimes we do want to look at these things and they can offer a welcome distraction when we are just “turning the handle” of real work.

So there you have it Bacn leaves a nicer taste in the mouth than Spam but is still mainly clutter!
