Forwards are the bane of the internet.
The internet is just about one of the best things that has ever happened in my opinion. It’s great for finding information, keeping in touch with others and just a good way to waste time. It’s also a facilitator of certain annoyances; one being the dreaded chain mail. You all know what I’m talking about, your friends send you these mails and in the subject you see in the subject a bunch of FW, meaning forwards, and they tend to fall within two categories.
1. There’s the forwards about God. They tend to make some comparison between how much we love some earthly belonging and how we do not show God the same respect. For example how many times do we check our phones for messages or get calls versus how often we read the Bible. After that point is made then the message wraps up with “choose God now or you’ll be sorry on Judgement day.”

2. The other type of forward relates to our friends and significant others. It goes something like “I love you so much and I hope your doing good and if you send this to 7 people within 7 minutes then something good will happen to you at 7am tomorrow morning.”
Both of these forwards greatly annoy me and let me tell you why. For the ones about God, its nice that people make their comparisons and see that we don’t give Him as much time as we do other things. However sending me forwards about that is not going to help. That’s because they’re annoying and ridiculous and a waste of my time to read, the person who started this probably meant for it to be a good thing but its not now. To those people who actually send these forwards… do you actually follow the advice? Do you live your life in the ‘accepted’ manner? I know you don’t so its a tad annoying that you thrust them upon other people when your just as bad.
Oh and unto the other type of forwards. Come on people, we all know that nothing great is going to happen at 7. I don’t know why people send these around at all, maybe I’m just a cynic and everyone else has some hopeful optimism about them. What’s worse is that I’ve now started getting these messages in my Messenger window. I’m signed in to Messenger and I get a message from a friend, so of course I open it and what do I see… “If you love me you have to send it back to me…” I am of course forced to respond since they know that I am online.
Now to anyone who reads this I don’t mean to offend. I mean these forwards are nice gestures I guess but they are more than excessive judging by the rate that they appear in my inbox. Secondly to my friends, you already know that I love you, I don’t need a forward to remind me about it and for the ones about God, trust me they aren’t helping. They more annoy than bring people to Him and really the people who sent the forwads aren’t exactly following its sage advice.
So everyone instead of forwarding these types of mail just go and talk to your friends instead. They’d appreciate it more. I know I do
