Configure Your Outlook Express for Your Email

Configuring your outlook express with your webmail id can drastically simplify the task of managing emails you receive and send.

Your Outlook Express can be configured to use your email by following some simple steps. If you have got a web mail, an email associated with a particular domain name you can configure that with your outlook express.

Start Outlook Express and go to “Tools” -> “Accounts”. Select the “mail” tab and Click on the Add button. From the menu select “mail”. Provide the Display name. Display name is the name that will appear as “From” when somebody receives your email. Click Next. In this section provide the complete email address. When you click next it is time to provide Email server names. Provide incoming mail and outgoing mail server name here. You will get these details from your hosting company who host the domain on which your email id belongs to.

The next section asks you for the Account name and password. Provide here the email id and its password. Please ensure that you give your complete email id over here like
emailed@example.com
. If you want your email id to be remembered by Outlook Express put a tick mark on the check box. Once you click the next button you get a Congratulations message. Click on the Finish button. You email id is configured with outlook express. Now send a test message from any of your other email and see whether it reaches your outlook express inbox.

    You must know the mail server details in order to configure that on Outlook express. For web mail, the server details can be had from the hosting service. Usually it starts with mail.domainname.com.
