Are All of Your Emails Spam?

E-mail

Emailing is our primary means of communication today. The idea of writing a letter to someone is out the window and email is our quickest way to get in touch with someone. Although, are you receiving more spam from people than actual emails that need a response?

I love email and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t look forward to checking my inbox each morning.  I actually do more emailing than you would probably think.  I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t send an email.  Currently I have 4 email addresses, each serving a different purpose. One is my college email, one is for personal, the other for my business (http://socialtechzone.com) and networking, and finally the email address at Alberto Culver where I am doing my internship.

Now, you may be thinking, “wow, that’s a lot of emails!  Is that necessary?”  Actually for me it is.  Two of them are only temporary to begin with.  My college email gets deactivated once I graduate and my email at Alberto Culver would probably be deactivated once my internship is over.  I have so many people that contact me during the day that I need separate email addresses for different ventures – (if you want to call it that.)

However, all these email addresses and yet I still get tons of what people hate receiving – SPAM!  I have heard of some people receiving more spam that actual email in need of a response.  To me, that would drive me crazy if everyday my inbox had nothing but spam and instead I’d be hitting delete a ton of times.  This isn’t to say for me that my spam outweighs my actual email.  I do get spam like everyone else, but for the most part I make sure I get rid of it so I never have to see it again.

Since spam emails will usually come from some location that got your email address in the past for signing up with a service; chances are if you look at the bottom of the email, there will be an “unsubscribe” button that you can click.  What most people do is just send the email to the junk/spam folder.  On a side note, emails that require my attention I always respond to, but after I do that I always delete!  I will keep an email only if I absolutely have to, but I like keeping a clean inbox so I know I checked everything.

I really think spam emails are annoying – as do most people. So, I thought, why not write a post on it that I am sure many people have the same issue with!   What do you feel about spam emails?  Do you get more than you wish to have?
