Hot-mail and Yahoo. They have been around for a long time. They are possibly the most popular free email providers known. It is hard to choose one because each has it’s own pros and cons. I personally prefer Hot-mail over Yahoo.

Hot-mail

Pros

• I think that Hot-mail has the better spam blocker than Yahoo. I have a bit of experience with Hot mail and I do not get any spam at all (sometimes a few stray emails about buying some “male enhancements”). My brother happens to have a Yahoo account and I have seen his in box. Many spam messages in there.
• Kids can also use Hotmail as long as they have parental consent (either the adult making an account to watch over the child’s account or entering credit card information). 

 Cons

• A lot of times Hot-mail has gone down. When I access my in box, Internet Explorer freezes and I hate that.

Yahoo

Pros

• You can do many more things if you create a yahoo account besides email, such as web hosting. There are free and paid versions.

Cons

• If a child is going to create an account, the adult must pay a fee charged to a credit card.
• After what I’ve seen, I think Yahoo gets more spam than Hot-mail.

There is no way to tell which is better.  So the consumer must make the decision. What will you choose?
