To celebrate my first two months with Triond, I’m writing a few articles reflecting on my experiences so far.
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about why I actually chose Triond to start with (http://writinghood.com/writing/two-months-with-triond-why-i-chose-triond/). Thanks for your feedback and for sharing all the reasons why you chose Triond. Today, I’m looking at the solution to a technical issue that I had when I first started publishing on Triond.
The Issue
As soon as I registered with Triond, I settled down eagerly to go through all the guidance materials. Then I excitedly wrote an article that had been turning around in my head for years – “Honoring All the Fathers”( http://socyberty.com/men/honoring-all-the-fathers/). Eagerly I opened the Online Editor to insert my article. I tried and tried and tried – but no-matter what I did, I couldn’t find a way to get the online editor to work. I closed my browser, logged on an off the web site, turned my computer and modem off then on. But nothing helped. Finally I’d found the perfect online publishing web site but couldn’t submit anything. I was devastated!
The Solution
I kept trying every couple of days but couldn’t make any progress. I gave up… for a little while at least. Then in the middle of the night I suddenly woke up. I had a real bright idea! What if I changed the browser that I was using? Quickly I turned on my computer, logged on using a different browser – and guess what – the online editor worked perfectly. I was thrilled!
Hey – I’m not great with computers like so many of you are, but I figure I probably didn’t have my first browser set up correctly. Anyway, everything is working fine now.
Hopefully this might be helpful to any of you who might just be starting to submit content.
Looking Ahead
In the next couple of days, I’ll be looking at my experience with Triond friends and feedback.

I can understand that. The other site that I write for suggested the Browser that was most compatible with it. I had no idea those kinds of issues existed until then, either. Turns out, it works pretty well with this site too. So I do get it. I’m probably more challenged than the average Writer though. LOL. thanks for sharing

Internet Explorer does not work half the time on any writing site for me. Firefox usually works better

I use Internet Explorer and have not had any problems yet. If I do get this problem, I know to try another browser, thanks to you.

I have this issue quite a lot because of browsers that I use. I’ve had issues with not being able to list items on Ebay with Google Chrome because there is this stupid ad right where I need to put my description and then if I go to Internet Explorer it works.
And then I have issues on Blogher sometimes where I can’t make any comments. And on Blogger, if I go to google chrome and check my posts they don’t always come up and I end up going to IE.
I know it is my browser and possibly if I don’t shut down the laptop.

Well, I never had a problem with the browser, but a site for sure.

congrats you’ve made it

Haha! Awesome story. I always used Microsoft Word to type in my articles. Then I just copy em onto the online editor.

Looking at the comments, it seems that some it is split on the browsers. My IE doesn’t work for the other writing site, but did work for this one but so does Mozilla Firefox which I use for both now. Maybe it is the compatibility versus the make of the computer this is where I probably get off because it seriously is a tad confusing. LOL. Just thought I would add.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and perspectives. It is all really really appreciated.
Yes certainly different browsers seem to be working for different people on different sites! I don’t know why.
I wonder if any of the computer experts have any advice on these matters? It would certainly be welcome.
Hopefully this discussion will help all of us, especially new people who are just starting out who might be getting discouraged.
Thanks again everyone.

I had used IE for quite some time and never had any problems until one day my PC received automatic updates then what do you know, I could no longer submit my work. I am computer oriented but it too took me some time to try a new browser. I still cannot submit work with IE. I now have to use firefox for submitting my work.
