Think your computer is slowing when opening new programs? well follow this guide to use minimum usage with firefox
- On the website url toolbar type about:config
- A page full of words will come up. right click anywhere and choose New -> Boolean
- For the name input type “config.trim_on_minimize”
- Select True
- Restart FireFox.
- Ctrl + alt + del (this opens your task manager)
- Go to process and choose your Firefox process (usually called firefox.exe)
- Look at the Memory Usage Column (average is 20,000-40,000)
- Now minimise firefox and you will see the memory usage to be less than 10,000

Totally worked! I’ve been having problems with viruses lately and been looking stuff up on the processlibrary and noticed that my firefox.exe process has been running higher than usual [68 thou. K].
My DSL modem’s light for internet and ethernet were blinking [indicating that I were using them] even though I wasn’t loading websites or anything. So I thought something was using the internet other than myself.
But anyways… Now my firefox.exe has lowered down just below 30 thou. K and I’m less suspicious. Thanks!

I dont know why mine is so high. I only have a single window open.. Would you recommend anything? Do you think I have a virus? I am using firefox version 3.0.4
