Another day, another new browser for my OS. For now I am happy using Opera as my primary browser, however there is no shortage of available browsers to chose from. Shiira (シイラ, Japanese for the common dolphin-fish) is the latest OS X browser I am experimenting with.

The Shiira homepage states the teams aim “to create a browser that is better and more useful than Safari”. The result feels to me like a deluxe version Safari. The browser is fast, and it is packed with features. The Shiira Wikipedia article writes “The browser is of comparable stability and speed to Safari, making it among the fastest and most functional browsers for users of Mac OS X.” While the source for this claim is not cited it is high praise for browser with a (comparatively) tiny user base.
