A short summary.
According to Mozilla this is the fastest firefox ever. In addition to quicker loading times it also has some exciting new features like the “privat browsing” mode, which can be selected from the tools menu. This feature prevents Firefox from saving any website-data, browsing history or cookies to the hard-drive. All the traces will be deleted immediately after leaving this mode.
Also, the browsing history now has a “forget” button, meaning there is now an option to select single sites from your history and simply take them off your cache completely with one click. Firefox 3.5 also lets you choose time-ranges of browsing history which you want to delete, like “last hour”, “last two hours” and so on.
A very nice and promising feature is the “Recently Closed Windows” feature, which, as the name already says, is very straightforward: If you accidentally closed a window, you can easily fish it out again with this option.
In terms of multimedia features, “Open Video” is now a fully integrated part of Mozilla Firefox, meaning video integration and interaction gets a lot easier.
Additional features includes “Location-Aware-Browsing”, “Downloadable Fonts”, “Css Improvements” and much much more.
All in all the new Firefox is stronger and more customizable than ever before. To those, though, who are using a lot of add-ons with their old Firefox and need them on a daily basis we would recommend waiting a bit untill new-versions of these add-ons for 3.5 are being released.
