Firefox four is a new version of web browser that hasn’t been officially released by Mozilla Corporation. However, in this guide you can learn how to transform your Firefox three into Firefox four so you can enjoy the new features in it without waiting for months.
Firefox 4 is the ultimate browser that has been waited for long time by a lot of Firefox users. It’s said that this new version of Firefox will combine the features in Google Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer 8. It will also give a brand new browsing experience that cannot be found in any web browser.
Although the official version is not available for download right now, some creative people have made it possible for us to try out some new features in Firefox 4 by installing their theme. This guide will show you how to do it in few simple steps :
The first you should do is to download the Firefox 4 Theme here. It’s made by SpewBoy from DeviantArt.
After then follow these steps to make your Firefox 3 looks like Firefox 4 :
- Extract the downloaded theme by using WinRAR or similar archiving software.
- Move your stop button next to the Address Bar and your Reload button next to the stop button. This is necessary to make the Stop and Reload button combined like in Firefox 4.

- Install the theme as usual. To install a Theme, click Tools > Add-Ons. Open Explorer and go to the folder where you have extracted the theme. And then, Drag and Drop the file strata40_v0.3.jar to the theme section in the window.
- This step will make your reload and stop button combined just like in Firefox 4. The stop button will appear when the page is not fully loaded while the reload button will appear when the page is fully loaded. The Add-On called Personal Menu is needed for that change. Install it by clicking Add To Firefox button.
Your Firefox should looks like Firefox 4 now. Additionally, there are four optional steps that will make your Firefox 3 become more similar to Firefox 4 :
- Download an Add-on called Fission here. When you have installed it, open the Add-on option choose browse to get a new loading image. Find the folder where you have extracted the theme and choose loading_bar.png. This will allow your Firefox to have a loading bar below the Address Bar like in Firefox 4.
- Download OmniBar Add-on here and when you have installed it, your address bar will act as Search bar too, just like in Firefox 4.
- Remove your Standard Windows title bar by using the Add-on called HideCaption. This will make your title and menu bar blended with the Firefox 4 theme you have.
- If you’re using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you should download “All Glass Firefox Mod”. It will allow Firefox to have a nice glassy window just like most of the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Applications.
After followed all of those steps, your Firefox should looks like this in Windows XP:

And like this in Windows 7 or Vista :

Of course, the real Firefox 4 has much more features than this but it’s not released for download yet until now. You can find out the complete information about it here.
That’s all the guide, I hope it’s simple enough for you to understand. Thank you for reading!

Thank you! Transforming your Firefox 3 into Firefox 4 will surely a nice thing to showoff your friend.
Btw, I wanted to make the version number after Firefox become the real number… but somehow it doesn’t work. I hope Triond will change it soon. It’s a bit weird to see the version number written as word.
