Different web browsers have different ways of deleting cookies. I will show you the most common ways to delete your cookies.
First off, what is a cookie? A cookie is a string of text that is stored on your hard drive by the web sites you visit through your web browser. They do not contain viruses, so they will not harm your computer in any way. Okay great, but how do I get rid of them? Well it depends on what web browser you are using – different web browsers have different methods of deleting cookies.
Internet Explorer: Open IE and click “Tools” on the toolbar. Then click “Delete Browsing History” and select “Cookies” and then the “Delete” or “OK” button.
Mozilla Firefox: Open Firefox and click “Tools” on the toolbar. Then click “Delete Browsing History” and select “Cookies” and then the “Clear Private Data Now” button.
These are the most popular web browsers, but if you want you can also download CCleaner which is a free software for all web browsers that cleans cookies, history, and more.
If your Internet is running slower than usual you may want to select all of the options in the “Delete Browsing History” or “Clear Private Data” windows. This will clean up all of the “junk files” slowing your computer down.
