Ok so I’m sure many other have done this, but for those that haven’t I’ll share. Rather than installing some fancy firefox theme I have found a decent way to minimize the clutter in the firefox browser window.

Here’s the steps.

  1. Right click on the toolbar and choose customize
  2. Drag all of the icons to the corresponding places in the top menu bar (see the inserted image)
  3. Drag off any that are pointless (and most are)
  4. Click DONE
  5. Then right click the toolbar again and uncheck the navigation and bookmarks toolbars

Presto! The browser should have a more streamlined appearance.  Unfortunately unlike Chrome or Internet Explorer you cant get the screen real estate from the top header but this method does get you everything in two rows.  I have found this to be a good method for getting some screen real estate for  netbooks such as the MSI wind.
