Microsoft Windows operating system is still a favorite among companies. But is not the case with Google, in which the majority of employees are no longer using the OS.
One of the founders of Google, Sergey Brin, estimates about 80% of the workers I no longer use Windows computers. He said only about 20% of the internet giant’s workers are still relying on the OS made by Microsoft.
Although not called implicitly, the possibility that employees use Chrome OS, the computer operating system developed by Google and has just recently introduced to consumers.
“I do not think that there is something wrong with Windows. However I think its complexities in running a computer is torturing users,” Brin says.
Brin assessed the operation of Windows computers are too complicated, for example, have to install the software, backing up data, installing anti-virus and so on. Unlike the Chrome OS that operates like a web browser, where the application is connected directly to the web, as well as data storage.
Brin also hopes eventually all Google employees use Chromebooks, laptops using Chrome OS. Chromebooks have produced the first edition of Acer and Samsung and soon was first marketed in the United States.
“I hope next year we only had a very small percentage of workers who use devices other than Chromebooks,” said Brin.
