Blogging

Getting feedback on blog posts is very important for everyone who wants to make a difference. There are few reasons why nobody comments on your blog.

Why nobody comments on your blog

Professional bloggers with huge paychecks have special relation with their regular readers. Communication is very important because it brings value to writings. You may have medium traffic blog and you want to know why nobody comments on your blog? Here are main reasons why you don’t get feedback from your readers.

Nobody reads your blog

This is very common reason why nobody comments on your blog. It sounds obvious, but beginners in blogging often make such mistakes. They don’t track visitors, they don’t do any promotion and they are not even aware their blog is invisible. Why nobody reads your blog is another question, but make sure you get some visitors before you can expect any comments.

You have comments disabled

Make sure you have comments enabled on your blog. Try to leave a test comment to see how it works and what your visitor will have to do to leave a comment. This process should be as simple as possible and remember that it depends on blogging platform you are using: Wordpress, Blogger, Typepad, etc. Don’t force your visitors to register or provide additional information because that will scare them away from your blog, something you don’t want.

Your posts are too much

Occasional visitor or regular reader will comment on your blog if he (or she) feels like it. Don’t get too personal in your posts. Very few people will comment a photo collection of your latest breakfast or your dog Snoopy taking a walk in the park. If you are expert in some field, keep it simple for your readers. They will not comment something they don’t understand. You should also be able to create atmosphere suitable for discussions in your posts. This will trigger your visitors to ask questions or give opinion, which will hopefully generate more comments.

You don’t replay

If visitor comments on your post, you can replay and let them know you appreciate their opinion. They don’t have to agree, you have to stay open-minded and accept other people opinions. If you replay on comments regularly you can earn another great skill, power to convert occasional visitor to regular reader.

Nothing in return

Some bloggers think that comments are waste of time if they don’t get something in return. You may choose to ignore them, but they can become valuable source of back links traffic for your blog. Consider join “you comment I follow” movement. Many bloggers have reported huge boost in number of comment after they allowed others to get free back links.
