Triond is Doomed

I think Triond is doomed. I’ve heard it many times before from other bloggers. Being persistent and perhaps having faith in the Triond team, I ignored them all. As I saw it, my blogs in Triond generate income, somehow. So, I thought “Is that a sign of doom?” Though my Triond income has been like few drops of mist in the desert, still I believe in persistence. As what people always say, slowly but surely. Or something like that…

I’ve seen people leaving Triond. Most of them migrated to several other sites that according to them have better exposure and higher income. Some of the sites, they’ve migrated into include experstscolumn.com, bukisa.com, wikinut.com, redgage.com, etc. Though I already have accounts from those sites, I only visit them every once in a while. And again, I ignored them all and continued my journey with Triond. Perhaps Triond has just become my comfort zone.

When I realized that, I know I might be in danger. A comfort zone is the biggest threat to improve any craft, and my writing is not an exception. And if I continue to post on sites that don’t even bother to check the simplest spelling errors and how much more the grammar issues, I would be like a dog chasing my own tail. I won’t go anywhere.

A few days ago, I received my compensation from Triond. It’s cool. It brought a smile on my face, of course. It’s extra cash for my savings. When I went home that day, I stumbled on an article about his earning in EC or Experts Column. It was way higher than the cash I received from Triond. I brushed through his other posts thinking he might have better techniques and strategies that I could learn. To my surprise, his writings were as “vulnerable” as mine. I mean, there’s nothing standout about them, if I were to compare with mine. The only difference is that, he’s into ExpertColumn than Triond. I thought “Hmmm, I think I should give it a try this time.”

So, I posted a few articles in EC. Confirmed! EC has better viewership. The income is also way higher than in Triond. Almost every hour I refresh my EC, my income increases at least a cent. In Triond, a cent takes a few days to accumulate.

One more thing, I notice that the glitch of having millions in Triond has occurred quite a few times already. And oh, I have a submitted an item that hasn’t been published even after more than a week in the pending folder. And there’s even no feedback from them about it. I guess, I’d be migrating to EC too… But I think there are still good reasons not to leave Triond. It’s like a home. And no one leaves their home. I could perhaps do patronize both. Just thinking out loud…
