The article is short and to the point: reasons why you (as a writer) should blog.

1) It is fun. Life is short and it is very important that if you find something that you enjoy, you should go after it. And if you like writing, there is a chance you’ll like it the colorful world of blogging.
2) The freedom. Part of t reasons why blogging is so much fun is that you can write about absolutely whatever/whenever and however you want.
3) Promote yourself/businesses/services. Do you write? What do you write? What are your strengths? Put in samples, talk about your credentials. It is your platform. Rock on. You can even put on a “hire me” buton/page.
4) Interact with like-minded people. It is amazing to share what you are passionate about with people who really care about that stuff.
5) Reputation. Get your name out there. Put in the hours, display the work, write the content. Then fingers crossed, things will eventually go viral- thanks to you and your n networking efforts.
I started because of 1 and I got addicted because of 2. Then I realized, 3 was an opportunity and 4 made it even more fun. And I am in stage/reason 5. I am no way Darren Rowse or Yaro Starak famous, but I am doing not bad.And remember, everybody had a beginning stage.

I agree with you except the promotion part. It’s the only thing that hate to do. I like to be creative and active doing blogging but marketing really is not for me. Excellent share and let me admit that your blog rocks. Whoever is reading this, it is recommended that you visit Zoey’s blog. It’s awesome. (Am i marketing ?)

@ shamyl: thank you so much! well, it is marketing and it is marketing someone else’s work and actually, social media loves that kind of stuff. so it is even better when we stumble or digg each other’s works. I used to hate marketing too but the more people you reach, the more fun marketing becomes.

Blogging is tough if you force yourself into it but really fun when you enjoy writing and talking to people. I actually see plenty of great writers here who should already have a blog. Wordpress is the way to go to make money. Do you agree Zoey?

@vaughanh: Just use wordpress. It is easy, fun and free. Blogging might create an addiction, though. Be warned.;)

@ Sharif: Yep. Wordpress is my favorite. Right now, my blog is self-hosted so that I can put ads the way I want but it is still a wordpress blog. I love the themes, plug-ins and the support.
