The Night Stinger

The Night Stinger Blog is dedicated to my favorite female boxing champion, Laila Ali. Like her father, she floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.

To me, a blog is a better place for you to write and share a story. It’s much easier just to practice and sort out your ideas and thoughts on blogs. You can set up your hold blog like a book or set it up to print it into a book. We have so many options today with blogs and websites. Sometimes I don’t know which way to turn, but I’m falling in love with blogging all over again.

When I created “The Night Stinger Blog”, I thought about the old pioneers like Stan Lee (Spiderman). I use to linger over the pages of Marvel and DC comics wishing I cold work for one of the comic book companies. Their pictures are painted and drawn by hand so beautifully. I’m more into the digital, 3d, and computer type of art. Marvel and DC have what they call graphic novels where you don‘t see any paragraphs. Their pictures tell the stories. I would like to make comics, but I would also love to do more writing. I love to write and make narrative art. I like to go beyond pencil, ink, and paint. When it comes to art, I prefer to have a real photograph, but 3D modeling is as close as I can get for my characters. Some of my backgrounds come from real photos taken with a camera. However, I would like to paint a few pictures on small canvas.

Freelance and Breaking Old Rules

As I began to make my blog, I realize that I drew the Night Stinger with different looks and expressions. Most of the time in comic books, the characters look the same on every page. When I sit down to look at Laila Ali in real life, she does not look the same all of the time. When you sit down to look at your own pictures, you see how you have changed over the years. Maybe you didn’t change that much, but in pictures, you never look the same all of the time. Seeing that the Night Stinger has different looks, I prefer to let it stay that way to give the viewers different views of one character. I like to bring reality into the fantasy. In comics, you have to stick with the rules. I like to freelance and break old rules to discover more. To all of you artist and writers out there, I would like to say be yourself, don’t be afraid to be different, experiment, and discover more. Wouldn’t it be pretty boring if everything was the same? Keep that in mind as you create something new.

Laila Ali could play your character. I love her boxing, and I love your character.

Steven that’s what I was thinking as I was making up the character, though she will probably never do it. I like to create what I think could be.

    Hi Teves! Thanks.
