Steps to Improve Your Blog

Blogging

How to improve your blog in sixteen simple steps.

Step One

I find this is always the hardest part You need to write down what you are going to blog about. Don’t worry about spelling, grammar or anything just yet. That can be edited later. Get a rough draft going

Step Two

Please, attempt to use Original content. Compelling content will come with time and practice Write what you feel and think

Step Three

Don’t rush yourself. If you find you can’t write a good article in a day use 2 -3 days to do it. Quality is priority over Quantity.

Step Four

Find a topic you love. What makes you excited? What is it that you excel at? Pick favourite passion. Write about that. Find a topic that is unique and you can really sink your teeth (or mid LOL) into it.

Step Five

Always include in your Blog a Bio (about me) about yourself, your goals and intentions. You could also include the Purpose of your blog

Step Six

Try to keep the Content relevant. For heaven’s sakes do NOT add a pile of Flash or videos We need to consider what others have PC’s and whether or not they have dial up or faster. The poor chaps with dial up won’t appreciate it at all. You lose viewers that way

Step Seven

This is the fun part. Give away something that is Free every so often. Makes no difference what it is Be creative. It can be a Free e-book, advice, or anything you can dream up

Step Eight

Try to keep navigation simple and consistent

Step Nine

Blend in photos, videos without over crowding. Keep in mind about the poor souls with dial up

Step 10

Respond to comments left on your blog. Try leaving a relevant comments on other blogs. For heaven’s sake just don’t post nice blog. Let know you have actually read it and like what you read.

Step 11

Ensure that you have RSS feeds set up so they can subscribe and or save it for checking later

Step 12

Don’t be afraid to ask questions on your Blog. You may be pleasantly surprised with some responses

Step 13

Make you blog appealing not only visually but easy to read.

Step 14

Not sure where this step should but here it is. Keywords are vital.

Make sure to implement as many relevant keywords as possible to direct search engine traffic to your site

Step 15

This goes hand in hand with the step above. When you post an article add tag words(key words) If they can’t find you they certainly won’t be reading what you wrote

Step 16

This is also very important and should not be forgotten. Whenever you add, edit, alter, or change your blog Remember to Ping it There are numerous places where that can be done.

Be sure to tune in for next article. Now that we have some Tips on improving your Blog I guess the next logical choice would be to help you get the word out about it

Till next time: Success to you all Online and off. Have a glorious day.

So many people seem to ignore #13: tiny fonts, white text on light green backgrounds, etc.

Yes, Mr. Blogger, I have a feed reader to strip away the design — but I’d like to have a sample of your genius first.
