So you want to start a blog? With thousands of pre-existing, well established blogs out there how are you going to make yours stand out? Read on to learn more about making your blog stand out and earn you money!

One of the newest and biggest trends for making money online is blogging; in fact, what started out as a hobby is growing larger everyday. There are now thousands of blogs available on the internet on most any subject matter that can be imagined. It is only logical that the thought of starting your own blog would cross your mind. However, with so many blogs already out there – quite a few of which are already well established money makers – and more popping up everyday, it has become more and more difficult to make a newly created blog stand out and attract the readers it deserves.

Considering those daunting facts, it is even more important to carefully consider all the options available when planning to start a new blog. One of the biggest considerations to make is what sort of blog you want to start. A niche blog would be the best option for drawing consistent traffic to the site. This type of blog focuses on a specific subject, and does not stray off topic. These blogs have the greatest potential for making a steady income.

Once you decide on what sort of blog you would like to start, the next issue that needs to be addressed is whether or not you want to be able to place ads, like
Google AdSense
ads, on your blog. This is a very important issue to consider for several reasons. First, if you want to be able to place these ads on your pages, you will have to choose very wisely on what host to use for your blog. There are many hosts that will let you place your blog on their service for free; however, many of these hosts will not allow you to place ads on your blog. Secondly, if you don’t want to try to earn money with your blog at first, but would like to place ads on your blog later on, you need to keep these facts in mind when designing your site.

It is also a good idea not to use the default template when designing your blog. Most blogs DO use the default template, and that will make it harder for your blog to stand out from the crowd. Choose carefully when deciding what template to use, and if possible, create your own from scratch. This will allow your blog to look very different from the competition, and therefore, will allow it to stand out.

Content is also a very important factor when creating your blog. It is very important for a blog to have updated, interesting content – especially for a new blog. If the content is not updated at least 3 or 4 times a week, the blog will likely loose readers due to them loosing interest in it. In order to keep readers coming back, the content must be updated! However, this does not mean that quantity without quality will gain an audience. Readers want both frequent up to date posts, and quality posts. It takes both to hold their attention.

Though sometimes it is hard to come up with current and interesting things to write about on your blog, you must look around you and even look on the internet to see what others are blogging and writing about. That will help you come up with new topics to write about on your site. Just remember that if you borrow information or subject matter from another site, you need to give credit where credit is due and provide a link back to their page. Again, when looking for ideas for content, it is important to remember to stay on topic. In other words, if your blog is about technology and computers, don’t write about gardening or flowers. Find something related to your main purpose for the blog to use for a post.

Finally, when you are considering a blog – or maybe even more than one – you need to take into consideration whether or not you will want to continue to update the site regularly, even when traffic is slow to come and income is even slower. It takes time to build a readership, and an income from a blog. This is mostly because hundreds of new blogs start every day, but only one or two of them will survive. Because of this, it takes time to build a reputation for your site. You must have patience, and staying power when you start a new blog. You must also take the time several days a week – if not every day – to update your content.

You should also take the time to register with blog rolls like
Technorati
to help advertise your site and drive traffic to it. If you list your blog with these sort of sites, you will gain a reputation and even gain readers. Just remember, nothing good and worthwhile is easy. With a little time, dedication, and a lot of patience you can build your blog into a money making machine. If after all these suggestions and warnings, you still want to try to blog for a few dollars, just remember to check all your options and plan it out like you would any other money making venture.

For anyone looking for a new marketing channel through which to advertise your blog, I invite you to check out PitchPanel, a site I recently launched.

I’m inviting bloggers to post a 125×125 banner ad for free. You can opt in to cost-per-click fees, but only if you want premium placement of your ad. Otherwise, just enter zero for your CPC bid and your ad will stay on the site at no cost.

I’m pulling a fair amount of blog-seeking traffic from Google AdWords and seeing excellent click-through rates. Registration is quick and easy, so PitchPanel is an great way for bloggers with a limited budget to get the word out.

How does one drive Google AdWords to website of blog I want to offer? I am really not technically savvy in the world of blogging, but am most interested in starting one in the interest of health care.

Another way of making money online is through selling other people’s products or commonly known as affiliate. Through this, you can earn commissions by making more sales. :-)

Yeah, it’s easy to set up a blog for making money purposes but the crucial thing is about optimizing your blog in order to get money. Most bloggers quit because they think that blogging career is not in line with them without knowing that the only key is just ‘determination’.:-) More success!
