Blogging

Add creative elements and a new look to your personal blog using free sources and a little imagination. Create a blog that matches your needs and personal tastes with only a few easy changes.

Designing a blog that fits your personal expression can be an extension of your taste and creativity. Using a free service like Blogspot is easy, but you can still add some individual touches with only a little time and effort.

Free Template Designs

You can use the standard template offered by free blog providers or you can choose your favorite from one of the many free template sites available. The Cutest Blog on the Block offers hundreds of free designs for every season, holiday, and artistic taste. Upload a simple widget and enjoy unique decorative borders like buttons, snowflakes, shamrocks, even animated backdrops.

Free buttons are available from websites, artists, and more in designs ranging from cute to classy, so you can pick your favorite and add a link to another site or blog. Artistic blog Life in the Crafts Lane offers free buttons, banners, and other blog features that you can download, as well as unique designs for purchase.

You can create your own buttons using an image editor program like Paintbrush or a photo editor. Open the image and re-size it small (between 100-150 pixels is good) and save the changes. For Paintbrush, try shrinking the margins until you have an image as small as you want, or between one and two inches. Save the changes, then upload your photo to your blog and add a hyperlink.

Creating unique blogs doesn’t always mean you need to learn html code or read a book on graphic design. It can be a simple as a Google search, a little imagination, and making good use of free materials available.
