Everyone who uses the Internet often must already know what a blog is, but if your one of those people who don’t know I’ll tell you.

A blog is like a personal message board filled with posts which you create. These posts can be about anything you desire such as video games or emotion. Anything you want can be published on your blog. Sites such as http://www.blogger.com and many others can be used to upload your blogs.

You might of seen them before on the internet but wonder how they make money, or how much money they can make.

The way in which they make money is much like how a very simple website makes money. By advertisements. Most blogs who host advertisement would have the payperview agreement. This means everytime some views you blogs, they shall also see your ads and every time you get a view, you get a little money. In most cases it can only be up to around $0.01 per 10 views which doesn’t sound to much. But if you become an active blogger and put up a few posts a week, you’ll attract more people to your blog so more people will view your blogs, then making you earn much more cash. If you use blogger then the best ad program to get would be google adsense as blogger is owned by google so should have the program incorporated somewhere.

Another way you can make money off your blogs is by selling stuff on them by putting a paypal button on your blog. The code can all be found on paypal.com on your account banner under merchant services. So people will pay for items which you will show on your blog. Not much is usually gained but gives you a little extra cash selling your stuff without using ebay and having to pay ebay fees.

So how much can a regular blogger earn?

Some decently popular bloggers that write things on a certain topic can earn up to $300 a month. All for putting posts online. But to achieve that amount your going to need to attract several hundred people and put many post on very often. If your a blogger thats only just started don’t expect to be earning more that $20 in a month. Your going to have to attract an audience. Some of the best ways to attract an audience is to go to a forum about the topic your going to write in your post and post your blog link there. That should hopefully get a few hundred viewing. If they like the work you’ve done they might want to see more of your work and so view. That’s just 1 tactic that is very effective. So if you a new blogger, maybe thing of a range between $1 – $5 in your first month.
