Even though we place PayPal donate buttons on our blogs no one donates. Learn how to get some donations to your valuable contents.
Running a non-profit blog? then you can expect some cool donations via PayPal’s donation program. On the other hand embedding sticky ads on your blog and waiting for good donation…. fool’s heaven!! But you can expect some donations with all that advertisements on your blog.OK ,before that let me tell about the experiment me and my friend conducted.
The practical fact.
We have created a blog and tried all the ways to promote it and got a handful of visitors a day, we didn’t put any ads out there but just placed a PayPal donation button .First week we didn’t get any ,but the second week we received 4-5 donations (max. $2) .After some weeks we put some image ads on our blog and noticed that the number of donation decreased considerably. We’ve altogether received 21 donations , and 18 without ads within 4 weeks and 3 with ads 6 weeks! You can also try this and realize what all features is checked by a reader before donating on a blog!
How to receive donations on an ad supported blog?
Yes , you could get cool number of donations from your blog which support ads ,all you need to do is to give out some free stuff (not any copyrighted material) created by you ,for example if you are a good web guy just creates some good templates , put it free and place the “donate; button just below the “Download’ link! Some rich kids who found your stuff interesting will definitely make some donation!
I recommend NOT to place those buttons, without giving the user any special features!
There is no doubt that if you keep a donate button without any special stuff ,it will surely harm the impression on your blog ,so I advice NOT to keep those buttons and links on yours!

I have a PayPal button and never received donations. I think someone will give me something in future.
