Blogging

Finding popular topics that will attract people to your blog is as much a science as it is a systematic process. All it takes is some research.

Chances are there are millions of people that like the same things that you do. You can attract those people to your blog. There are 184 million adult Americans on the internet, some of them every day. Can you imagine how many other English speaking users there are worldwide? Can you also imagine how many users there are of your ethnicity and first language worldwide?

It gets really exciting when you consider that as an adult, you have some life experience behind you. You have something to teach the world. Maybe you buy a lot of stuff from the internet which would allow you to set up a “product review” blog. It could be as simple as reviewing e-books that you have bought or software. Maybe you collect ring tones and you can tell people where to get some of the best ones around.

How do you find out what’s popular? When you google “ring tones” for example, you will see on the top and down the right side of the page, rectangular and square ads, advertising ring tones. If you check some of the succeeding pages, they too have these sponsored links. If there were no sponsored links on the subject you are googling, then it is not popular enough to develop. Also, if there are only four results from your search and one or two sponsored links, there is not enough popularity to be worth the effort of putting up a blog. Pick something else.

If you are a politics aficionado there is a perfect opportunity to follow what is going on with the Presidential Inauguration in the US and to follow what the new president is doing. Barack Obama, as the first black American President will make interesting reading indeed.

Picking popular topics to blog about should be fairly easy to pick if you are up on the latest trends. If you are the type of person that wants to know the latest of everything, then you should be able tell others through your blogs. I know we all like to think what we have to say will find interested readers but as you can see, internet users will vote with their mouses. If you can’t hold their attention and keep it, the next site is only a click away.

There are many things popular now…there’s much more than choosing a topic of being popular, it’s experience + mastering the art of writing headlines + body text…and a lot more.
