Well, when you first make a website, people are not going to stampede to it right away. It takes work and effort to get traffic, and it takes a lot of work to make a good website. 

Blogs are a good way to start, especially with WordPress. With a WordPress blog, your site is in Google results very quickly! Some people just like to read up on other people’s lives, or some people have information about games, websites, and such. It doesn’t have to be too flashy, or too cheesy. Just make it original, you. Make blogging something you like to do. And to also get popular, leave comments on anything you want, and type your page link in the “Website” form part if provided. That means people will be able to click on your name and see your page. But blogging isn’t always the way to go, depending on what kind of site you want to make. Some people want pages, not posts. If so, you should find other site-making services.

The problem with other site making services is that it’s hard to get traffic to your website. You’ll have to either pay to get it on results, or put it on the engines webpage crawler, which determines if they want your website to be on results.

DO: Use websites like adleaf, (check safety first, but I know that adleaf is safe). They will let you advertise your website completley free of charge. Just enter your website link, description and stuff. Then, it will give you some text to embed into your webpage. It will advertise another site, and that other site will advertise yours.

DON’T: Go online and search for “Free Traffic” or “Free Listings”. You’ll most likely get what I call “S&S” (Spam and Scams) One time I signed up for a free listing site that was rated safe. It didn’t give me any of the ideal spam like “buy this” and “buy that” but boy oh boy, did it send me a lot of it’s newsletters. I was practically getting something from them every day! And free traffic, are mostly scams. Think of more sensible ways, like using adleaf.

Some people are deep into business, and aren’t thinking of freebie sites of the internet. So if you plan on buying advertising, maybe even creating commericals, you might be in good shape. But, here is a tip.

When advertising, try your best not to make it look cheap in cheesy, make it look natural. Don’t use flashing colors, or anything that looks like a scam, and most of all, DON’T USE POPUPS. Popups are the probably the number one thing that will shoo people from your website. Sure you want to use things to catch peoples eyes, but don’t force the people to.
