Thank God you have the privilege of staying at home, working and raising your kids at the same time. But sometimes we can get so caught up in “business” that we forget our little ones needs. Between cooking, cleaning, answering calls and trying to sound like you are in a professional environment when your two year old is in the background screaming at the top of her lungs and yelling “MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY” non stop, things can get out of hand. There is a way to keep them happy… and keep your customers.
Set your alarm. If you are online from the time you are finished hauling the kids off to school to the time hubby comes home organization and prioritizing is a must. Make a list of all the (non-business) things that need to be done during the day. Set your alarm when it is time to:
- Feed kid
- wash dishes
- change diaper
- wash a load of clothes
- pick big kids up from school
- cook for hubby
etc.
This will keep you organized so you don’t get so caught up in blogging all day that you slack on priority.
Take 1 minute tickle sessions. Let your little one know that the computer is not taking your soul by stopping for tickle brakes.
Let your child know that you are still alive by singing fun kid songs and reading to them. This is something you can do while typing, organizing and filing.
Turn cartoons on real low just incase you have a business call you won’t have to run in the other room and leave child/ren unattended. This will keep them busy but won’t be obvious that you are working at home. Barney has a tendency to chase away potential clients.
Detach yourself from the computer and take little one/s outside to get some fresh air. They will get exercise and you will come back rejuvenated with a new topic to blog about.
