Should the content on a blog have quality or quantity?

Making money from the internet is something everyone wants to do. And the easiest method for this is blogging. Blogging is something that needs patience. You can not start earning money the moment you start blogging. First you need some traffic. And for traffic, some content is required.

What should be the qualities of content on a blog? Should it be quality oriented or quantity oriented? These are most asked questions and are related directly to your earnings.

First about quality. High quality content is something that will surely attract visitors and boost your rankings in search engines. Quality content does not mean that it is only understandable to experts in that area. Terms which you think are not known to the general readers should either be explained or linked to. Linking to other blogs or directories is a good option. It will keep your content focused on the main topic while giving people more information about the terms. Wikipedia is a good option to link to it has lot of content on pretty much every topic. But quality alone will not be a determining factor for traffic.

Quantity is also an important factor. You should post regularly. Quality content alone will never make your blog a hit. If you post on regular basis and do not take long breaks in between, you will soon get readers. But leaving your blog without any new posts for long times is not recommended. When you have to, just write a post informing the readers that you will have to go and clearly state the time when you will come back. But this method will not save you in case of regular breaks. Keep posting regularly.

Bloggers split when it comes to Quality vs. Quantity. Some tend to bend towards quantity and some towards quality. The best way is the middle one, i.e. maintaining a balance between quality and quantity. If you post high quality content once a month, you will surely get less traffic. Similarly, posting meaningless posts everyday will not help. So, just stick to schedule, give some quality content and see how your earnings increase.

At last, do not forget to place ads at good spots on your blog. After all, a good bog with only one ad and that to at the bottom will never perform!
