It feels so good.
My blog, Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, is teaching me so much. Just when I think I have a handle on publishing a blog, something happens that makes me realize the blog is the instructor and I’m the student.

The Gazette is my marketing tool and helps me make money online by sending traffic to my Triond content. So, you know, I blog often, try to post interesting content and load my posts down with come-hither tags. I do what I can to make my blog sticky. And sometimes it doesn’t work. There are days I get hardly any hits.
There was a time when I would get frustrated and not blog for days. I would check my traffic, looking at the graph, and the graph would show an increase. There would be weeks when I would do nothing and the graph would hit constant highs. Did this mean my blog was better off without the blogger? Without me?
I think the answer is, yes.
Why do I think the answer is yes? Let me qualify that yes. It’s not yes all the time just some of the time. My theory is that some of the time a blogger just has to let the blog do its thing. Hits will come in cycles no matter what the blogger does. That’s how online marketing works. A blog hits a sweet spot.
Now this is just a theory. My theory. I could be wrong. But if you have a personal blog, or even your Triond account, the hits will come and you will be in the sweet spot.
Of course the opposite is also true. But that’s probably the blogger’s fault.

That’s a nice encouragement for the moment, Guy. While good friends start to say goodbye and frustrated with the system this and that, I could always come back in time and Shakespeare wouldn’t even come close with our present marketing tools despite the glitches. Of course I don’t have a mind to shake thinking some remarkable poetic lines as Shakespeare does.

It is true. I have found some of my articles have had returning sets of big hits without me doing anything. I would never make big money at it though. I enjoyed the write.

Frances, it seems that large numbers of people look for certain things on the Internet at the same time. A blogger gets lucky when her content is what these people are looking for.
