“Louie, Louie, oh, no, babe we gotta go.” Those were the first few words of the monster hit “Louie, Louie” by The Kingsmen. The Kingsmen are still playing this song. I saw the band on an oldies show on television. Actually, the band was probably not the original Kingsmen. These guys were too young. How old is that song? It doesn’t matter. It still rocks. It’s a party song if there ever was one.
The story goes that someone brought a lawsuit against the record company that released “Louie, Louie.” The suit said the lyrics were obscene. The word on the street was the lyrics were obscene. You could barely understand the singer. I think it was the first record where the lyrics could not be made out. One line sounded like, “I dropped a load in her hair.”
Now for the latest on what’s going on in the world of blogging with my blog.
Well, for two days straight now I’ve had more than 100 hits. Finally. People are even clicking on the link to buy the ebook. I don’t know if they’re buying it but they are clicking on the link.
Some program on the Internet is linking to every post I publish. The program puts up a page on the Internet with ads around the title of my post and a link back to the original. The program also gives a link to my Twitter account and claims to be a beta program of Twitter. I use to delete the backlink as spam. Now I approve it. I don’t care who sends me traffic. This all began after I was a guess blogger at another blog in my niche that gets a lot more hits than my blog. I think the two events are definitely connected.

Also, I took down my YouWrite tab and my Free Editorial Services tab at the top of the page of my blog. They weren’t bringing in any hits. I have a The Hot Link Of The Day in their places. It’s getting hits. I change the link every morning when I get up. The link can be about anything. It allows me to get hits on old links that are not in my sidebar or in my individual posts. This old blogging dog has learned a few new tricks.
Who won the lawsuit against “Louie, Louie” for obscenity? The judge played the record in court. The plaintiff brought up the line, “I dropped a load in her hair.” The judge ruled against the plaintiff. The judge said he couldn’t understand the singer.
Years later I actually found out what the real lyrics to the entire song were. The line, “I dropped a load in her hair” was actually “I put a rose in her hair.”
The reason my blog does not get censored is because I let the sex take place in the reader’s mind. Not on the page. Just like the singer of “Louie, Louie” let the sex take place in the mind of the record buying public. It’s called the power of suggestion.
My blog is the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette

I’ll try to read this again another time. I can’t seem to get the connection between Louie Louie and blogging. Cut me some slack, I had a long day…will try to leave a more meaningful comment next time.
I wish I had your skills. You seem to be doing a really good job of your blog.
Christine

Awesome post. I loved it. Interesting title.
Nice one. I like the song connections you find and tie your posts with. I am glad the song passed the judge. And, the power of suggestion is in deed what makes a lot of things sell.
Reader’s mind concocts at least thirty percent. Entertaining article.
a very good entry but the title had me thinking of something else LOL
