A little how to to help you along.
Preparing content for loudio.com.
http://www.loudio.com (loudio.com) is a great website for sharing musical submissions to friends and everybody else on the web. To get started there are a couple things to consider.
For example the format of the file you intend to produce for uploading and your means of recording it. For many people they may only have the standard microphone for the computer; the little plastic variety with base. This will work for making recordings of speech as one person is doing in recording a book reading. ( http://www.loudio.com/artists/Judith%20Dupree.201309 ) A very creative and cool idea for many people like to listen to audio books.
Using the standard microphone you may be able to record yourself playing an acoustic guitar and singing but the quality of the recording may not be great.
You will need to select a software program to record your audio submission with. For recording a book reading something simple will work. There is most likely something included in Windows tm and I will check shortly but there are also plenty of shareware free programs like Audacity. I just “googled” “shareware open source recording software” and got a really good list.
Most of the programs are not too difficult to work with but you may have to experiment a bit to get used to them, especially if you are a novice. Once you have made your recording you will need to hit save and then find the directory where it was saved to. This is probably in the directory of the software program itself but could be elsewhere as well. You can submit your file as is (which is most likely a .wav file) and Triond will accept it and it seems to work fine however you may want to use the freeware program wav2mp3wizard to convert it to mp3 format which is more user friendly and loads faster than a large file does. This program is easy to use as well.
For my submissions I use Cakewalk Home Studio 4 which is an expensive but relatively old program now. It came out in 2004 I believe. Once you record a track you set up the next track. When you hit record on the second track the first track automatically plays back so you can record another track alongside it and they will be synchronized. You then hit edit and bounce to track and it combines the tracks into one mixed track. You then save the file and exit the program. Open wavtomp3 wizard and find the file and convert it to mp3 format. Then you submit it to Triond for publishing.
At this point if it is good quality and you don’t overdo it you can get it out to the world using a networking site such as stumbleupon but be responsible about it or they will take away your privileges.
Thanks. Have a nice day, and I hope you found this informative and at least somewhat coherent.
