This guideline will shortly show you how to rip music to MP3 format using the worldwide well-known iTunes.

I have to admit that i am a fan of iTunes. I really think it is a good program. In addition it is freeware. (you may do the download from Apple´s site: http:://www.apple.com/itunes/)

Lots of users are nowadays getting to know it a little better, but still don´t know how to copy CD musics to MP3 format, so that they can use it on mobile phones (that support mp3 files, obviously), music players and even the Sony PSP. Well, the most common problem is related to the format you get at the CD´s transformation. In MAcintosh, the program prefers the AAC format, while Windows computers will put it in the WMA format (or also in AAC).

So lets see what we can do in order to rip music cd´s to the most popular  music format: MP3

Step 1:

Happily, if you don´t care changing the program preferences, you will easily be able to change the musics format that you get each time you rip a CD. Open iTunes, choose “controls”-> “preferences” and then click on the guide “advanced”. Afterwards, click on the guide “Importing”.

Step 2:

My PC has th default option as AAC format. However, you might have the WMA one (Windows Media Audio). Click on “Import Using” and you will verify that MP3 is one of the possible options. Choose it and click in the “Ok” button.

Step 3:

Now try to rip the CD. Open the iTunes, choose your CD and put it in the computer. Just a few seconds later it will appear in the iTunes. The only thing you have to do is simply click in “Import CD” on the top right corner of the window. Automatically the program starts the copy of the musics to the computer.

Step 4:

This task might take several minutes. Eventually the music files are supposed to be in the folder: “My documents”>”MY Music”>”iTunes”>”iTunes Music”>”Artist”>”Album”.

Although they might appear  without the extension, they will be in the MP3 format, as we hope, and now they can be easily copied to one MP3 player that you will choose.

I hope it was useful
