First, you need music! You can buy songs on iTunes, or accquire them however you want, but you will need Mp3 files to play on your music player or iPod.

Second, determine if what you own is an iPod or a Mp3 player, the box that you bought it in should tell you what it is.

  • If you own an iPod follow the following:
  • You will need a program such as iTunes or Zune to upload the music files onto your iPod, iTunes can be downloaded here: ”     http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/    “  Click the big button saying download now.
  • After downloading, install iTunes.
  • Next, connect your iPod to your computer by inserting the USB cord into your computer’s USB port. The other end of the wire is inserted into your iPod.
  • Open iTunes, and your iPod should show up there.
  • Find the place where your Mp3 music file is, and drag it to your iPod on iTunes.
  • Wait about 20 seconds (for one song) or until your iPod stops displaying “synchronizing” on the screen.
  • Remove the USB cord from both your computer and  iPod, locate Music, on your iPod, play, and there you have your music!

If you own an Mp3 player follow the following:

  • Most Mp3 players don’t require other programs like the iPod does.
  • Insert your USB wire into your computer’s USB port, and into your Mp3 player.
  • Open My computer, and there should be a new Removable disk there.
  • Click on the new one, and there should be a file that is named music, if there isn’t then do the next step directly in the current file.
  • Drag your Mp3 music file from your computer onto your Music file, and wait for it to upload.
  • Once it has uploaded, unplug the cord, open your Mp3 player, and in your music file should be your new song.
  • Happy listening! If problems occur, comment on the bottom and I will do my best to help you.
