FREE…your fave word.
Have you ever been riding in the car, listening to the radio, and you hear a song that you’ve never heard before, but you find that you really like it? Of course you have. Who has not? You sit there, listen to the entirity of the song, and wait for the end of it to come, so that you can hear the name of the song. The song ends and either goes to commercial, or goes right into another song. You never hear the title, and you are left sitting there, extremely and pointedly annoyed that you just found a song that is now your new favorite, but you don’t even know the name of it to even begin trying to find the song for the purpose of adding it to your personal music library.
I, too, have been there on several, several occasions. These days, it seems like no one hardly ever announces song names, or even tell what the artist of the song is. This has got to be, in my mind, one of my most frustrating and obnoxiously unnecessary pet peeve.
But I have figured out a remedy. When I am listening to a song, and I am not even able to catch all the words to the chorus (the chorus generally being the thing that helps people to figure out what the name of a song is), I just catch all of what I can and commit it to memory.
Later on, I go on YAHOO! and I type in whatever words I can remember in the search bar and hit SEARCH. YAHOO! recognizes the words I typed as the lyrics to a song, so when I comb through the results, I am able to find the songs this way.
Cuts back on a lot of unnecessary aggravation for me, and I am always able to find exactly what I am looking for. Plus, it is free! Hope this helps.
